Dorothy Richesin Kennedy, 86, of Athens, died Sunday morning, May 31, 2009, at her residence.

A lifelong resident of McMinn County, she was a daughter of the late George W. and Jane Barnett Richesin, and was preceded in death by her husband, Warner \"Chittle\" Kennedy, on Jan. 12, 1985. She was a member of McMahan Calvary Baptist Church for 60 years.

Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Brenda and Jimmy Baker and Kaye Martin, all of Athens, and Sheila and Harry Minge of Nashville; two granddaughters; five grandsons; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at McMinn Memory Gardens with the Rev. Bob Thomas officiating.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Jim Baker, Andy Minge, Joey Minge, Josh Martin, Dusty Martin and Joseph Allison.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
