John Eldan France

John Eldan France, 47, of Hixson, and a former resident of Decatur, went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 1, 2009, at his residence following a lengthy illness.

He was a member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church, and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was preceded in death by his father, William C. France Jr.; one brother, William C. France III; and his grandparents, W.C. Sr. and Sally France and William J. and Bessie May.

Survivors include his mother, Helen France of Decatur; three sons, John E. \"Jef\" France Jr. of Decatur, and Travis Cole and Dallas J. France and his fiancée, Jeannie Davis, all of Hixson; one sister, Nancy France of Athens; one niece, Tracy France of Cleveland; and several cousins and special friends.

Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Bowers Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Rymer officiating. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Mountain View Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
