Jeff Alan Key

A native and longtime resident of Athens, he was preceded in death by his father, William Claude Key. He was employed with Texas Hydraulics as a supervisor and attended Clearsprings Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of seven years, Cathy Wilson Key of Athens; five daughters and three sons-in-law, Melissa Key of Athens, Crystal and David Kerr of Catlettsburg, Ky., and Camissa and John Kerr, Stefanie Ghorley and Susannah and Chris Rogers, all of Athens; his mother, Marjorie Ann Lyles Key Norwood Womac of Athens; two sisters, Ella Womac and her special friend, Stephanie Johnson, both of Athens, and Terri Key of Cleveland; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Jesse and Ryokko Norwood of Yokahama, Japan, John and Connie Norwood of Athens, and Scott and Denise Key of Georgia; eight grandchildren, Bailey, Madisyn, Felix, William and Sam Kerr, Levi Ghorley, Ruthie Rogers and Lizzie Ghorley; a special aunt and uncle, David and LaPriel Lyles of Spring City; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Tuesday at Clearsprings Baptist Church with the Rev. Ralph Swafford and the Rev. Bob Kerr officiating. Burial followed in Clearsprings Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Larry Womac, Chris Key, John Kerr, David Kerr, Chris Rogers and Steve Wilson.
The family received friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Ziegler Funeral Home.
