Earl Swafford

Earl Swafford, 80, a McMinn County native, and a resident of Pace, Fla., died Friday, June 5, 2009, at Santa Rosa Hospital.

He was a son of the late Willard and Ida Womac Swafford.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Jo Parker Swafford; two sons, Dan of Milton, Fla., and Jim of Pace, Fla.; three daughters, Ida Mae Swafford and Debbie Meray, both of Texas, and Dale Campbell of Huntsville, Ala.; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four brothers, Claude, Ray, Ralph and Rudy Swafford, all of Athens; three sisters, Ruby Swafford of Athens, and Betty Jarvis and Ilene Bryan, both of Decatur; several nieces and nephews; and two uncles and four aunts, James and Edna Swafford, Mary Swafford, J.D. and Ruby Womac and Bertha Womac.

The family received friends on Saturday evening at Lewis Funeral Home in Pace, Fla. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Hugh Bryan at the funeral home at 2 p.m. Sunday. Burial was in Milton, Fla.
