Charles Walter Moses

A lifelong resident of McMinn County, he was a son of the late W. Harold and Pauline Logan Moses and was preceded in death by one sister, Linda Moses Martin. He was of the Methodist faith, and had served in the U.S. Navy. He worked as a carpenter for several construction companies in the McMinn County area. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 5146 and a lifetime member of AmVets Post 90 of Decatur.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah \"Sunshine\" Harrison Moses; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Donna and Randy Richesin of Clinton, Cynthia \"Candy\" Turpin of Vonore, Janie and Mark Borden of Sweetwater, and Melissa and Keith Holloway of Vonore; one son, Christopher Logan Moses of Loudon; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one niece; and one nephew.
Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Jerry Smith Funeral Home with the Rev. Dale Brock officiating. Burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday in McMinn Memory Gardens will military honors.
Pallbearers will be Donald Melton, Allen Borden, Jerry Melton, Jamie Gage, Jason Gage, James Brock, Billy Shane Brock and Ricky Burris.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Jude\'s Children\'s Research Hospital in Memphis or to Shriners Children\'s Hospital in Lexington, Ky.
